Anheuser-Busch Sales Plummet in Wake of Transgender Influencer Partnership Backlash

Anheuser-Busch, the parent company of Bud Light, has experienced a 29.5% decrease in sales for the week ending May 20, compared to the same period last year, due to a boycott in response to its partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

Bud Light sales alone dropped 24%, while Budweiser fell 10.5%.

Michelob Ultra saw a 6.8% decrease in sales.

The company attempted to boost sales with a Memorial Day promotion that made Bud Light and other products "free," but sales continued to decline.

The CEO of Anheuser-Busch released a statement addressing the boycott but did not take a firm stance on the partnership.

Two employees involved in the decision to partner with Mulvaney were put on leave.
